Anyone who wants to know about America History needs to know more about who was George Washington. George Washington was born on February 22nd at Popes Creek in Westmoreland County, in the British colony of Virginia in 1732. He was the first of six children of Augustine and Mary Ball Washington. George married Martha Dandridge Custis On January 6, 1759 when he was 26 years old. He died on December 14, 1799. Washington was the first President of the United States.

He was an American military officer and a Founding Father who was the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797. Washington was designated by the Continental Congress as commander of the Continental Army. He drove Patriot forces to triumph in the American Revolutionary War. He also served as president of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, which made and ratified the important Constitution of the United States and the American federal government.

George Washington first served public office, from 1749 to 1750 and was a surveyor of Culpeper County, Virginia. He then accepted his first military training and was assigned the command of the Virginia Regiment during the French and Indian War. Washington was later elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses and was also named a delegate to the Continental Congress. He was designated Commanding General of the Continental Army and guided American forces allied with France to triumph over the British at the siege of Yorktown in 1781 during the Revolutionary War.
