The World Economic Forum is a global non-governmental and lobbying association that is based in Geneva, Switzerland. It was established on January 24th, 1971 by German engineer Klaus Schwab.

The establishment sees its own central goal as “improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas”.

The WEF is for the most part known for its yearly gathering toward the end of January in Davos, a mountain resort in the eastern Alps locale of Switzerland.

The meeting unites approximately 3,000 paying individuals and chose members – among whom are financial backers, business pioneers, political leaders, market analysts, celebrities and writers – for as long as five days to talk about worldwide issues across 500 sessions.
