❗️A duck rescuer who has spent nearly a decade saving and rehoming wild geese in Ohio has been inundated with calls from concerned Springfield residents amid allegations migrants are eating wild birds.

Lisa Montgomery was shocked when she discovered the 'unusual' amount of birds which have disappeared in the region, and now has 'serious concerns' that they're being 'murdered for food.'

Speaking to DailyMail.com, Lisa said the sheer number of birds disappearing of late has far exceeded past summers in the region.

She's been rescuing ducks and geese throughout Ohio for nearly 10 years, having owned and operated Mid Ohio Waterfowl Rescue since 2015.

'I have over the years had many people reach out from the Springfield area. Recently with concerns of ducks and geese being murdered for food,' she said.

Two brothers from Pennsylvania and New Jersey who allegedly assaulted a New York Times photographer and stole her camera after they stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, were arrested by the FBI on Thursday.

Philip Walker, a 52-year-old from Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania, and David Walker, a 49-year-old from Delran, New Jersey, face charges of forcibly taking an item from a person and assault with the intent to commit another felony, as well as other standard Jan. 6 misdemeanors for entering the Capitol. Philip Walker faces a separate charge of willfully and maliciously destroying personal property, for allegedly discarding the camera in a body of water.

The photographer in question, though not named in court documents, is Erin Schaff, who has written about her assault on Jan. 6, in which she said rioters inside the Capitol threw her to the floor, broke one of her cameras and stole the other. (Schaff has covered fallout from the riot, including photographing a separate Jan. 6 defendant named Brian Mock for a feature story on Mock's relationship with his son, who turned Mock in to the FBI and testified at his dad's trial last year).

Blinken fails to comply with House subpoena and faces contempt resolution

The House Foreign Affairs Committee will move forward with a resolution to hold Secretary of State Antony Blinken in contempt of Congress after the top Biden administration official failed to comply with a subpoena to testify on the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. 

The committee will meet for a full markup on the resolution next week, after which the panel is likely to decide whether to advance the contempt charges to the full House for a vote. Committee members will meet on Sept. 19 at 2 p.m., according to committee Chairman Mike McCaul (R-TX).

Federal authorities are preparing to file criminal charges over Iran’s alleged hack and leak attack against Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, according to people familiar with the matter.

The FBI investigation has focused on an online persona named “Robert” who contacted American reporters, these people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe details of an ongoing investigation. That persona shared campaign documents they falsely claimed to have obtained while working with the campaign, the people said.

Investigators have determined that the person or persons posing as Robert was acting on behalf of the Iranian government, and offering data files stolen from Trump advisers’ email accounts. Such overtures were made to Politico and The Washington Post. Criminal charges could be filed in a matter of days, these people said. Spokeswomen for the Justice Department and the FBI declined to comment.
