John Durham resigned today from his post as U.S. attorney today. I am sure that many people have lost hope. But I wouldn’t lose hope just quite yet. Many news agencies are not reporting that he is still continuing as Special council to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia Probe. So that investigation will continue.
There are also some other interesting events currently going on. President Trump had signed Executive Order 13848 on September 12, 2018. The executive order is entitled: Executive Order 13848—Imposing Certain Sanctions in the Event of Foreign Interference in a United States Election. If you have not read the Executive Order then I highly suggest that you do. President Trump also signed a very similar EO in January right before he left the office. In EO 13848 it is to stop foreign interference in any U.S. election. It gives steps on what is to happen after the election date and what is to occur if agents, companies, or any entities that helped with foreign interference and if any legal or any other action is needed. It discusses how many of their rights and assets will be locked (now you know why big tech and other companies were very worried that Trump was going to continue as president). It talks about at to the extent of these agents’ property on United States soil will be dealt with.
That is the short version of the executive order. Obviously it goes into far more detail in its descriptions. One interesting fact is the timing. The EO states that 45 days after an election (so in this case it was November 3rd), The DNI (Trump appointee John Ratcliffe) was to deliver a report on possible foreign interference to the President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Treasury, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Homeland Security. This report however was delayed however due to the usual slow walking and excuses by the FBI and the CIA. The DNI was waiting for those agencies’ reports and he received it very late. Ratcliffe delivered the report in January. My math and exact date may be off a day or two, but it seems like it was delivered January 17th.
From the point of delivering the report, another 45 day cycle begins. Another report is to be delivered, this time by the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security. They consult with other agencies to create the report. Then the report is delivered to the President, the Secretary of the Treasury, the Secretary of State, and the Secretary of Defense .
The date that that report would come due is March 1st or a day or two after that (again my math could be a day or 2 off). From their discussions of the reports and from updated information then the appropriate action is carried out. Legal action if necessary. Many will say “well most of those positions are now filled by Biden appointees”. That is true. HOWEVER. The military will see these reports and that may be the real reason why they are currently in Washington DC. It also is the reason why the Biden administration and the democrats are trying to go full steam in getting executive orders written and enacted and other crazy idea bills passed. The Biden administration and many others could be in serious trouble if this executive order theory is correct. And if it is correct then the military has a duty to carry out their oath: protect the constitution of the United States.
I am not a lawyer. But this is how I have read and interpreted Executive Order 13848. I have watched the actions of the military and the Biden administration and the theory does make sense that something else may be going on that the public may not be aware of. So I would not give up hope just yet. President Trump speaks at the CPAC convention this Sunday. It will be his first big speech on national TV since he left office. Will there be fireworks February 28th through around March 4th? We shall see. We can not give hope yet. And this theory has some substance to it.
